C.R.E.A.M.

Earlier today I got a chance to go to upstate NY & visit the historical Olana Estate located along the Hudson River.

My mom,sis & family friend were also there. From time to time we do this just for a little bit of cultural enlightment. Sometimes these trips are really interesting & sometimes i wanna go sit in the car and listen to HOT97, but for the most part this trip was pretty good. It just amazed me on how this one man & his family owned 250 acres of land & this BIG OL HOUSE that he designed himself. As i was on the tour, I realized that this mans main hallway entrance was bigger than my room & thought, "this dude was buggin". He was a very talented artist who made good money for back then, (which would be about $10,000 a painting...which is still good if you asked me). He really made MTV Cribs look like your Auntie TT's crib. Of course the hip hop head in me mirrored this into how rappers of our era get dumb fly to the point where club bangers are produced about it. The most known side effects from these songs for our current generation would be the infamous, throwing our rent money in the air OR the new trend of, gettin soooo fly that our best friend has to stand there & slap/pat us down for a whole 4 minutes & 34 seconds of "Wipe Me Down". But of course, theirs the hood classics like, BIG's-Juicy that we sing along to drunk as a mug at the club, to the point where the 2 step seems like the only appropriate dance for every song for the rest of the night. I can only imagine how foreign the feeling is of waking up in a different social class . Especially coming from the streets of Marcy Projects like Jay, the slums of N.O. like Weezy or the Set Reppin' hoods of Compton like Dr. Dre and to securely say with your head held high I'm paaaaaaid. Classic example of what i like to call the, "hair nappy, but im happy, pocket full of doe" syndrome. Some make the transition & climb higher, going from selling records to being Presidents at Record Labels. Some just focus on the typical, girls, cash & cars. AND SOME just go power trippin & make people (who want the "out the hood" status) walk to Brooklyn for some cheesecake. Whether its Making it rain off stage or gettin "So Krispay" that ya jeans 900 & your shoes 850, like the song implies, ballin is at an all time high. Granted, at times we look like foolish hoodstars & at times we look like striving entreu-pro-negros. But whateva it is, make it do what it do rapper man.Live it up & pop them bottles, cus truthfully, we cant stop watching.
